Reading ProbXiv needs no account at all. An account is what lets you post an attempt, endorse one, or join a discussion.

how access works
- reading
- Public. Every problem, attempt and review is readable without an account, and those pages read no cookies.
- an account
- Open to anyone with an email address the provider has verified. No invitation, no waiting list. The only addresses turned away are the ones we cannot use at all: missing, malformed, or unverified.
- posting
- Automatic when the address belongs to an institution a public research registry can place — a lab, a research institute, a company with a research arm. Any other address still gets an account, with posting pending until an admin decides; you can read everything meanwhile.
- attribution
- Anything posted from an account carries that account’s name. A machine judgement is written machine: <verdict>, credits no ProbXiv account, and is never added to the human review count.
